I have a Acer Aspire 4315 laptop and it already has 1.00 GB Memory (RAM)

also my brother has the exact same laptop, but he doesn't use it no more due to the screen having been damaged very badly.

Any way, to make my laptop more powerfull, could i take out the RAM from my brothers laptop and then place it in the second RAM slot of my laptop alongside my RAM?

OR would i have to delet stuff of of my brother RAM or something?

Please help, no high tech language doh please

nothing is stored on RAM, so it'll be fine and you'll get a boost in speed :)

The increase in ram will boost the speed but an almost full hdd will also slow a system down, Install the ram, delete the junk and do a system de fragment, http://www.ccleaner.com/ is a good free software to keep your system running smooth and fast.

Ok, i have put the 1gb RAM in now, so i have 2gb RAM altogether
I already use ccleaner, and run it frequently
and i have 2 hearddrives:

1) 14.1gb free of 32.3gb
2) 29.7gb free of 32.3gb

so in what ways will my laptop be faster, just loading of programs ect?

Yeah pretty much it, should just be smoother. Laptops need RAM more than desktops as the hard drives in laptops are generally slower so more information needs to be in the RAM to keep your flying :)

Windows xp sp2 needs 2gigs of ram to fly so you should see quite an improvement in speed over 1gig.
