I am just trying to sort out some business insurance, and am getting a bit lost with all the jargon, was wondering if someone can clarify this for me.

This is the section from the policy which I think refers to the cover I am after, but a bit unsure?

"Legal liability to pay damages and associated legal
costs for accidental injury, damage to material
property, nuisance or wrongful arrest in connection
with the business"

I am a carpet fitter and basically want insurance in case I accidently damage someones property while I am working, does that seem like it's what I'm after?

Sorry if it's a silly question, first time I've insured myself for work.

not the usual type of insurance i deal with,

but it sounds like it will pay what ure looking for,

damages and associated legal cost (assuming something like compensation)
cost of accidental injury,
damages to material property
nuisance or wrongful arrest

all to do with ure business.

few things u might want to look out for as well:

check the exclusions (events you are NOT covered for), and if there is a minimum excess. If you are not sure its always best to call them and get the insurers to confirm.

If u phone the sales line the phone call should be recorded (part of the fsa regulation), and note down (yourself) who, when and the date so you have something to refer back to. Get them to confirm things u are unsure of and u will be fine in an event that u need to claim

hiya dude,

it sounds like it will do to me, but its better to call them to make sure. I am honestly not sure, sorry

they are usually referred to like a public liability insurance. Might want to check out what they will actually pay for as they may only pay a "reasonable cost" if its an item like a sofa.
