You have to display the disc by law. You'd be very unlucky to get a fine though if you've ordered it.
#3
Nope..... you've got to have a valid tax disc displayed if you intend to drive tomorrow (as it's the first tomorrow).
#4
The disc must be on Display, but if you have ordered it, you will probably get a bit of lee-way.

IMO it's easier to do it online, cuz u don't have to find the MOT/insurance papers

order it online, do screenshot of confirmation page and print it, If you get stopped you can show the police that you have ordered it and it will be with you in a few days

You do not have to show the disc if you have ordered one on off the net for up to 5 days after the due date.

Fraid not......

I have not received the tax disc. Can I use the vehicle without the tax disc displayed?

It is an offence to use a vehicle on a public road without displaying a valid tax disc.

Fraid so.

If you prefer to tax in the last few days of the month, there is now an exemption from the offence of not displaying a tax disc. This exemption covers the first five working days of the month and allows time for the new disc to arrive in the post.

This is TRUE. A recent change in the law allows a 5 day grace AS LONG AS you have already purchased it online.

He posted something similar to this thread the other day, someone replied with faq's from the dvla site, says it is an offence to drive without a valid tax disc on display, doesn't say that you have 5 days, tells you it will take 5 days to come tho.

This is something new, only maybe the last 6 months to a year.

Don't really understand why you have asked a sinilar question to the other day only to receive the same answers.

Is there a problem with getting it from the post office?
