Are you flexible on the area to be used?

If you cut it down slightly to 4.8m * 2.4m then you won't have to cut the wood and you can do it with 40 pieces.

Decking boards, or decking tiles? 2400mm is long for a tile.

Edit: If it's boards, I make it that you need 44.

Yes, I think we could be flexible as we rounded the measurements up. Thank you very much!

Again, helps if you can be a bit flexible to avoid cutting.

4.95m * 2.25m would need 55 tiles
4.95m * 2.7m would need 66 tiles.

Always worth avoiding cutting if you're not filling an exact space.

You'll need about 62 of these.

The way to work it out is:

Total area to be covered: 5 x 2.5 = 12.5 square metres.
Area of 1 tile: 0.45 x 0.45 = 0.2025 square metres

Number required = 12.5/0.2025 = 61.73, rounded up to about 62.

Hope this helps

Tiles will work out more expensive than boards/planks. If you do go for boards, check your builders merchants (eg Jewsons). When I did some decking last year, they were cheaper than B & Q or Wickes

I haven't checked your calcs, but you can't use a simple "Divide" to get the amount of tiles, as you are not taking into account any cutting/extra tiles needed.
