i have just sold a pram on ebay and the final evaluation fee was £12, and today the buyer emailed me saying they cannot go through with the transaction blah blah blah, which i dont mind but i have been charged the £12 final valuation fee, will ebay give me this back, as i was going to email the buyer and ask them to pay that which i think is only fair for messing me about.

Yes you will get it back if you open a dispute and pick the cancel transaction option. The other party has to accept the request to cancel the transaction and then you will be credited with the fees

if i open a dispute does that leave them with an unpaid item strike?

not if you both agree to cancel the transaction. That only happens if you start a dispute saying they havent contacted you. If you start a dispute saying you both want to cancel the transaction, no action is taken apart from a refund of the fees

What actual punishment does a non paying bidder receive ? if you can't now leave - feedback then non serious bidders might as well bid, win and not payup to their hearts content :?

not if you both agree to cancel the transaction.

But going that route is stupid. If they don't agree you lose your case and pay the fees. Best to put it in as a NPB and get them a strike.

Brilliant... I sold a phone 9 days ago, thought great, 56 transactions, 100% F/B, however despite 5 emails, not heard a word from them since !

its stupid how a seller cannot leave negative feedback, 3 items of mine i sold people havent paid so you should be able to leave neg to warn other sellers/buyers of them, i just left neg feedback in the positive space lol

think you do a thing called mutual agreement and once the other party has replie to this you get your final value fees back
