Hi all!

I need some advice on what do to...

About 9 months ago a glass cafetiere shattered in my hand whilst i was cleaning it with a sponge and cut my hand in several places leaving a few minor scars. I contacted the company who made it (Whittards of Chelsea) and they strung me along for about 3 months before it finally got pased to their insurance team. The insurance team eventually sent me the documantes i needed to make a claim against whittards, but also sent me someone elses claim details as well! I was P##### off about this as well, but there's the kicker... the guy who was dealing with my claim left the company, I haven't had any contact from them at all, and when I have rung them, i was lied too. The first guy I spoke to told me he was going to send a claim document to Whittards via Special delivery the same day...when I rang two weeks later it apparently hadnt even been printed!:x

Should I just forget these clowns or what? I still have pictures of my scarred hand somewhere and this really wasn't my fault...and they still haven't replaced the bloody cafetiere!

thanks in advance

Can they really help? i was considering them but got told by other people they were useless, will give them a try though. Was also considering writing to a paper to help me out, what do you think? Thanks for advice mate, rep added!

The CAB will offer impartial advice. I'd take everything you have relating to this, your pictures etc and have a chat with them. Most of them have a couple of solicitors help out a couple of days a week, they may get you to see one of them.
Or you could book a consultation with one of your own choosing, most offer 15 minutes for nowt.

I wouldn't bother with the Media just yet, but it's up to you.

Ok, Im gonna go in to see them on monday, see what they can do about it, theyre probably the only ones who can help anyway. I'm a student so can't afford a solicitor and those 'have you had an accident in the last 5 years' things all seem to be naff. Once again mate, thanks!

You may not have to pay for a Solicitor, most bill the 'other' party if you win.
Anyway, the CAB are pretty switched on.
Good Luck and thanks for the Rep.

First of all you describe "minor cuts" surely you mean injuries to your hand that during the healing process left you unable to perform simple tasks such as carrying shopping, cook , clean , wash pots, wipe your own.................................................................................................
......................................................................................................
......plates etc,etc well you get my drift, it cost you expense and embarrassment having to rely on people to do even the most menial tasks on your behalf didn't you have to buy things to help you out too like say electric can openers has you couldn't operate a manual one single handed, and what about taxis buses etc has you couldn't drive. You get the drift?
You make it sound so trivial and banal as a kids grazed knee! Ham it up a little but dont overdo it, im sure a good ambulance chasing solicitor would give you more advice and if you cant find one visit chesterfield town centre on a Saturday as theres always several people asking if you've had an accident in the last three years that weren't your fault!
