So I updated to the newest iTunes yesterday & now my iPhone won't sync!

Seems I'm not the only one but can't seem to find a way to fix this, I have searched the Apple forum & found info on a SQLite3.dll file being moved out of Windows/Sys32 folder but it's not there anyway.

Main apple help info doesn't help either, says to make sure I have the newest version of iTunes, I did that & that's what got me into this mess!

Anyone had this message & managed to fix it?

EDIT forgot to add running Vista HP & iTunes does show my iPhone in devices & it also shows up as a device in Windows - it just won't sync

I'm a bit reluctant to do that as I assume that means I will lose everything that I've downloaded in iTunes but not xferred to my iPhone. Am I right in thinking that? I have quite a few pod casts that I listen to/view on pc that would take ages to download again.

I spent many hours with this problem a few days ago. Removed and re-installed everything a couple of times.

Eventually (from the apple forums) I found a solution that worked for my laptop (acer) - do you have libxml2.dll in the C:\Windows? Deleting this (or moving it somewhere else e.g. desktop if you dont want to delete it) stopped the sync server error for me.

I don't think uninstalling itunes will affect things you have downloaded as they will still be on your computer.

you can moved the file to the desktop or just delete it - I moved it just in case I needed to put it back

Start - Computer - double click on (C:) - double click on "Windows" folder - scroll down the folder until you find the file "libxml2.dll" right click & cut - drop the folder down to the task bar so you can see the desktop & then anywhere on the desktop right click & paste.

Hopefully that will solve your sync problem, good luck

just save the library.xml to another location as that file retains all your song librarys etc - uninstall reboot then install again then copy the file back or do an import then connect your device.

I also experienced a sudden inabiltiy to sync to Outlook 2007, Windows 7 . My Oulook information was up to date, so I was able to clear the problem by going into iTunes > Summary > Info > Advanced and replace (on a one-time basis) the information on the iPhone. You have the abilty to select and replace Contacts, Calendars, Mail Accounts, etc depending on the failure received.

Hi everyone,
I have the same problem with the HP computer running on windows 7. Please assist if you know.
The ERROR is (iTunes could not sync contacts to the iPhone because the sync server failed to sync this iPhone)
I had tried all possible ways by uninstalling and re-installing the iTunes but so far not successful. Also tried the (reset sync history)
Let me know if you have any solution
