I'm going to London to The Imperial War Museum this week. Taking two 15 year olds and one 10 year old. Is there anywhere else in that sort of area that we could visit too? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

No problem, its not for everyone.

You also have the London Aquarium (spelling?) but its quite pricey for what it is.
Waterloo is a major hub (not sure on your knowlegde of London) so getting anywhere is pretty easy from there as well.

The Imperial War Museum is good (was there for a conference two weeks ago) but seemed smaller than I remember

To go round all of imperial war museum it takes around at least 5 hours. it looks small from outside but inside its very big.

If you like trips about ww2 etc visit churchills bunker or HMS belfast. I think that imperial war museum is near elephant and castle or lambeth.

Yep Lambeth is the closet but it still only a 15 minutes (well signposted) walk though Waterloo.
I'd steer clear of Elephant & Castle a bit grim around there

The Science Museum is great and free.. TfL's Transport museum is very very great for the kids it is in Covent garden (walkable from Waterloo)

The Kids can even drive a tube train there, lots of interactive games, toys, etc. good place

i've recently see 2 4 1 tickets for the aquariam but can't think who it was with. Someone like visit London. If I remember i'll post again but maybe google it if you're interested. Although 15 might be a bit old unless they're particularly interested in marine life.

Thanks. We have to go to the Imperial War Museum 'cos that's the main reason we're going! Don't have lots of spare cash so a show is a no-no sadly.

Had a great time on our trip to London. Enjoyed the Imperial War Museum (although the Holocaust section upset me..as I suppose it does most people). We then went and had a look at the London Eye and saw the Thames and Houses of Parliament, jumped on a tube and went off to Camden for the rest of the afternoon. Thanks to all for your suggestions
