Sure it's not just the injector fault like has already been diagnosed?

Fix that and engine light should go off.

I know the problem.. its a peugeot..

I used to have a peugeot 307, I had ECU problems also, if I did 70mph down the moterway it would cut-out. Did this a few times while driving normaly. Took it to peugeot who said nothing was wrong.. Luckly it was a hire car and soon got rid of that pieace of rubbish

Sorry no experience of having the ECU repaired but had reconditioned one fitted. Not cheap.
My ECU failed due to sensor on the crankshaft flywheel and unless you've already had the coil pack changed that will probably need replacing as well.

my neighbour had a 307 that had huge problems, cutting out etc.. hes a mechanic and couldnt fix it, neither could any other mechanic they tried in town. He spent loads on trying to get it fixed and ended up selling it for next to nothing just to get rid of it... i remember him mentioning the ecu... aswell as other things.

Seems to be a common thing with peugeot? i would possibly get the injector fault sorted ? then see what happens? im not a mechanic and have no idea about cars.. .hopefully someone here might be able to steer you in the right direction as ive no idea on cost etc...

The fault usually is not just for Peugeots. It tends to be most cars with an ECU.

Daft statement, most cars these days have ECUs, and not all of them have frequent issues with them, some manufacturers made more reliable cars than others.

The statement read different to what was intended. What was meant is that it can be a variation of things that crop up with en ECU and sometimes when even fixed it still alerts you that there is an issue. Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat and Suzuki have the above issue. I have dealt with quite a few matters involving SGA claims.

206's do suffer from injection probelms, in my experience it's usually an injector & not an ECU.

your local motor factor should be able to send the ecu off & have it tested for you, but dont go out and purchase an ecu before having everything checked.

we've used BBA Reman in the past for ECU's Peugeot 206 tech help they have a good forum as well, no need to register . Forum

my old 206 had an overheating issue which was partley down to the ECU, cost around £150 to have it repaired.

Well, as you're a lawyer, you'll need to think before you type next time, won't you?
