The host 'POP3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'POP3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

Sorry, being so thick on this one but I can't find out how to do the server name. The example it shows is: mail.cpandl.com

what isp is she on?
say if it was tiscali...the incoming mail server should be something like pop.tiscali.co.uk
and smtp.tiscali.co.uk

Knowing who her ISP or email supplier is would help us help you.......

Although to be perfectly honest Outlook Express is a defunct program, the current version (6.0) was released in 2001. You should really be using something more up to date like Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ or Windows Live Mail: http://download.live.com/wlmail

I'm in New Zealand currently so it's wxc.net.nz

From their help pages:
Xnet Email Settings

Incoming Mail Server: pop3.xnet.co.nz

Incoming Mail Server: imap.xnet.co.nz

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.xnet.co.nz

Webmail URL:webmail.xnet.co.nz

Incoming Mail Server: pop3.xnet.co.nz

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.xnet.co.nz
