I'm just about ready to throw this laptop out of the window but it's too blooming cold to break the window!! So I'm hoping and praying that there are some computer experts still on the go.

Just set up a yahoo account for my daughter and she is wanting it so that it is set up through her outlook express as well.

I've managed to do most of it and am being able to receive incoming mail into both oe and yahoo on the web but cannot manage to send anything from oe. It keeps coming up saying to verify email address and 530 authentication required.

I've tried so many things now I don't know whether I'm coming or going......

Someone please help me

3.Select your Yahoo! Mail account and click Change.
4.Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab.
5.Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
6.Please make sure that "Log on using" is not checked.
Click Ok and Restart Outlook

Have tried this on several occasions with no luck unfortunately but thanks very much for suggesting it.

Scrap Outlook Express and get Windows Live Mail instead.

It should lookup and fill in the needed settings automatically, after you have entered her email address. It also has a much nicer layout, when compared to Outlook Express.

Scrap Outlook Express AND Windows Live Mail, and use Mozilla Thunderbird instead. I've been using it for years and it's simple to set up in minutes. Even backing up the profile is easy. That, hand in hand with Gmail is heaven.

Cheers for that. Think I'll give up on it tonight and try again in the morning
