Hi, can anyone tell me the difference between series 5 and series 6 Samsung TVs?

Also, what would be the best or recommended Samsung TV within these parameters -40", LCD, full HD, not much more than £800 price tag.

Many thanks.

The 6 Series is the one to get! What a beautiful picture!

it is full HD 1080p and also does 100Hz which improves picture quality allot.
The 5 series does not have the 100 Hz and has a lower contrast ratio.

only downside is the rose colour tint in the frame.

Johnlewis has it for £850 with 5 years garuntee

Its worth paying the little extra for 5 years peace of mind!

Thank you.
Would you say this le40a656 is one of the best 40" LCD TVs out there ?

I notice some reviews of it allude to poor sound quality, so I will need some kind of home cinema sound system.
Can anyone recommend one to go with this particular TV ?

It is certainly in the running but you will never get a straight answer to that question.. I have one and I love it. the rose colour is hardly noticeable unless you have it in direct sunlight.. people with Sonys will say Sony is the best etc.. best thing to do is read the reviews and then get down to curry or Comet and see the picture for yourself.. and then go home and buy it online and save yourself a few hundred quid.. Dixons do the LE40a656 for about £750 and give 5% quidco

sound quality is fine.. no better or worse than any other TV I've seen.. of course for Movies it would be good to get a surround sound system

I just got the 40" A656 Samsung from John Lewis (Glasgow) for £769.00 with 5 year guarantee.

Disregard the online price and phone them.

They will do a pricematch against a competitor if needed (Richer Sounds etc)

There is a massive thread at AV Forums all about this tv here :

It is indeed a superb TV , although sound quality is slightly lacking.
