I'm with sky for 5 years,I've recently moved house(2 months ago) and one of my sky box is broken. They didn't give me new boxes this time but they charged for installation as i've got multi room and Sky + as well. If i call Sky, will they replace the box (preferably sky+)as i'm with a year's contract with them. Has anyone had any experiance of it or can give some advice???? Thanks in advance

I'd call them and explain the situation, say you can't afford to repair or replace the broken box. Tell them you would like a new box for free. If they say no tell them that when your contract runs out you will switch to Virgin Media as they offer free box replacements. Normaly that does the trick and Sky should offer you a new box for free... Give it a try!!

That will only work if the OP is in a Virgin Cable area.

If you're still within contract, you're still within warranty.

Give them a ring.

I'm not sure how you are still in contract after 5 years though? Unless they renewed your contract when you moved, but they didn't do that with me.

If you actually are still in contract then sky reasonably expect the equipment to function correctly to allow you to view channels.

If they refuse you are covered under the sales of goods act, and possibly unfair contract rules.
