Help with xbox 360 wireless controller please!

I moved into my uni halls on Monday and since then my wireless 360 controllers just haven't been working!
I just get the ring of 4 flashing green lights on the controller all the time.
I went and bought some new duracell ultra batteries to put in them today so it's not a low battery problem.
I've tried to pair them up countless times by pressing the connect button on the console and on the control but they never pair. The lights spin round until the ones on the console goes back to no lights and the controller shows 4 again.
I have this problem with two wireless controllers, both of which worked before I moved.
The xbox and controls have not been damaged in the move either.
My uni accommodation has a wifi hotspot which is the way everyone can get online in their rooms, do you think this could be causing the problem?

Please help! I just want a game of Pro Evo!
Thanks.

you have to press the sync button on the console and then after the controller.

Thanks for the quick response.
I just tried pressing the console button first and then pressing the controller button but it didn't sync.
Then I tried pressing the console button and then pressing and holding the controller button, still didn't work.

It definetly sounds like a syncing issue, I cant remember if it was when I moved house, or a week or so later I had the same problem, couldn't sync up etc, but after trying loads, I switched off the console, and for some reason tried to turn it on with the controller, and it worked....Maybe give that a try, if that fails then I don't know.

Ah doesn't matter now, I give up. My 360 has got 3 red lights AGAIN!
I can't believe it. I got it fixed less than a week ago.
Is there anyone who hasn't had to get their 360 repaired/replaced?!
I'm so annoyed!

Ouch, Tough break.

Buuuut, You can play it to your advantage. When you call MS just let them know how much your 'displeased' with their service and you'll get lots of free stuff. Improvise on how upset you are etc.

Me and my mate both got 13 months of live and 3 free games each

i think if you kick up a big fuss they'll send you a new machine rather than repair it
