I use the following free tools and I'd recommend you try them to get rid of the pop up:

http://www.ccleaner.com/

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

That should clear the problem

Yes, they are not AV programs so will run alongside AVG.

ccleaner removes temporary internet files and cookies etc from your PC in one click.

Spybot scans your PC for scamware/spyware and removes it. Make sure you have the up to date definitions so it detects the latest nasties.

Thank you, will give it a go. Wish me luck!!!

RUN MALWARE BYTES.

Download from filehippo.com. That'll fix it good.

Also, CCleaner is NOT a spyware remover or antivirus, it is simply a cleaning tool which should be used after you've scanned your pc etc, or just to help speed it up a touch.

Hi, downloaded SpyBot, even though it's on AVG! and it seems to have worked. Thanks so much to everyone who gave me advise.

Cheers
