Yesterday my wife went to have her hair cut style and colour, she wanted chocolate and bleach blonde. She was told that they could not do bleach blonde because she has had her hair coloured before and that it would turn orange.she had to pick 2 other colours so she had to pick a plum and sand colour but her hair looks no different to before there are even grey hairs showing. Is it right about the bleach blonde question, also can she do something about this but she does not want to go back to the stylist if they offer to do it again.thanks paul

I had my hair cut and permanently coloured for £13 last week at my local college.

I still have some grey hairs poking through though, maybe they have come through this week because it has been a bit stressful at times:)

they always ask me in hairdressers if its my original hair when I get a colour done, it will probably colour it orange though which is why they ask

They told her chocolate would be to dark and that there is no way they would put blonde in.She has brown hair any way so how can chocolate be too dark?

Wife just phoned up and was told because she had colour in the ends of her hair.so why did they not cut the ends off her hair?

Its not right - I would complain again then go to citizens advice or something. They should at least give her free cut/colour for another time.

She went in for something specific and came out with something completely different. Sounds like she was put in an awkward position and probably didn't make a fuss at the time. Now she is probably going mad - I know I would be.

she was made to feel awkward but she is the kind of person who would not go back because she feels they would be funny with her.

Yeh, I know what she means, I has happended to me and I didn't go back at the time because I was young at the time. I always say something now though (I am older and wiser ha ha). If she is not gong to complain then tell her to forget about and just never use them again - put it down to experience and tell her to bad mouth them round town ha ha :-D

Trust me, dont try bleaching over prev coloured hair, it will turn a copper orange colour.

She will need to wait until the colour has dramatically faded before doing it , or wait until it grows out.

If she really wants that blonde chocolate colour then tell her not to colour it again, let ALL colours fade .let it grow... then when she has it cut, the ends will be removed and new hair can be coloured.

I went from blonde to dark, now wanting to go back to blonde, im doing exactly that method.

Hi thanks for your input but as I said earlier the colour was now only at her ends but the stylist never told her this until she phoned to complain, anyway she did go to another stylist and they took a sample of her hair and they will be able to give her the colour she need.cheers Paul
