the van was purposely put there by police, so the students would stay near it and not stray away from area

as NWA say "**** the police"

They should increase the fees further to pay for all the damage.

Life sentences for all involved to be honest. What if there was a paraplegic police person in the van? They couldn't have wound the windows down, and probably could have died. Or got a nasty cough, and you don't want one of those with winter on it's way.

lol all you people who have been brainwashed by the media. the police van was put there on purpose. I Would not be surprised if the people who broke it vandalized it were people paid by the government.

Shows why it cost so much to educate them, They don't act like the brightest bunch of people

The posts directly above yours demonstrate that admirably.

My university raised £1 million for charity last year. Did you hear about that in the news? No.

yeah but how can you be sure its actual students doing this anyway?
it could be somebody just using this as an excuse,

besides which it is a tiny minority of people, just like you get with anything,
they don't represent all of the students

most of the students are peaceful, yet the media focuses on the tiny minoirty that do wrong

lets be honest-anyone who saw the build up on any news channel this morning knows that the journos were PRAYING this would happen-its what they wanted for a good story and now they have got their wish. Its just the start of a long period of discontent with many groups protesting, and likely being hijacked by the same extremists no matter what the cause may be.

With tens of thousands of people protesting. Approximately 200 people were responsible for Millbank. That's less than 0.5% of the demonstrators there.

But when these tiny minorities become large minorities, that's when we have a problem.

i do not agree with the damage the students have done but. they should not be making student fees any higher.

making student fees higher will put more people off going to uni and most likley get more people on the dole.

where will the new students get all there money from as the goverment will not foot the extra costs students to learn.

in scotland you get univeristy free but in britian you pay for everything

Where do I start? I blame the education system ;)

Why is it that when students protest it is out of order, yet when anyone else wants to protest we all say "good on them".

Anyway i'm off to central to join my fellow students. Toodles

Thats a good thing, it will actually separate those who are capable of learning and want to use their degree for a career from those who want to use it as a 3 year doss. The fees would make them think twice about applying.

It wouldnt lead to more people on the dole at all. Degrees are currently being cheapened because of the sheer numbers of people going to university now many of whom are not suited to academia and would be better off with taking one of the numerous other routes through further education that will see them getting a more suitable job.

Its not elitist it is the way it is.

The long and the short probably is the face we would see a lot more doing apprenticeships, more tradesmen, a regeneration of the industry sector leading to higher competition, higher standars of work and cheaper costs for the customer, we all need trademen, very highly skilled professions that dont require the writing of essays.

Because students are young, free and single and most of the people moaning aren't.

They're old, bitter, achey, cold, tired, trapped old fraks.

Holy crap, throw away the key, I worked to support myself through my education, my friend was doing genetics, did his first year, had to take second year out to work full time to save, so could go back and commit 110% to his course.

I worked full time and went to uni full time, yes it was hard but i didnt have debt when i left, got the degrees i wanted, so if mrman007 and I can do it then so can the students of today
most the of the people i went to uni with did the same, courses were expensive then too
