A few of you may remember that it was my girlfriend's birthday last week and she asked me for a kitten and that I was struggling to get one. Many memebrs were kind enough to point me in the right direction and I managed to get one at the weekend - mind you he didnt come cheap

needless to say the missus was made up with him

heres a photo for anybody interested

http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/4315/063vo6.jpg

any suggestions for a name for him would be welcomed

we only got him at the weekend and on sunday he started rubbing his mouth and retching - he couldnt sleep was shaking all over cos of it so we took him the vet on monday morning and they thought he had swalloed something like a sewing needle!! and would need an xray and operation to remove it. so they gave him an anti - inflamatory and told us to bring him back the next day. We were worried because we didnt have any insurance as he was too young and couldnt afford the cost of a big op like that. Might have to have him put down :(..... Anyway we took him the next morning and the vet analysed him and relised he had blisters in his mouth (they were only just becoming visible) and that he would be fine

got a feeling this cat is gona be trouble......

......that is cute
#24
Roryk83 and LadyMadonna - they are both soooooooooo cute! I'd love another kitten but something tells me my 4 year old moggy Murphy wouldn't be too chuffed by that...

Seriously though, you must get insurance - my little boy was hit by a car when he was 8 months old. £1200 and several operations later he was all fixed up and he's now a lovely, if tail-less and half jawed little thing, but I would have been bankrupted if I hadn't shelled out the £5 a month or so for his insurance. That was with Marks and Spencer, and they were fabulous, but I think they have changed their underwriters now so may not be the same as it used to.

Going to get insurance soon as. I think it's actually part of the contract I have to sign to get him home. I'm buying him as a pet so have to get him neutered. To buy him with breeding rights would have cost me around £1,000. His pedigree or whatever you call it name is lucky star.

My son wants to give him the pet name of Tinkles though after Mr Tinkles from cats & dogs.

Blimey, £1000 for a cat??? I thought £15 for my moggy was a bit steep!! ;-)

LOL, I'm not paying anything like that. The price comes right down if it's just as a pet.

was going to say it remnds me of that evil cat from cats and dogs....very cute though...nice colours.....my 4 cats are just plain old moggies no one else wanted....I usually end up with the homeless strays, make very loving pets though...

4 cats? I imagine one to be enough but a year down the line I'll probably be wanting another though.

Moggies are indeed lovely and thats what I intended to get at first but I've always loved the look of persians and when I thought how kitty could be in my life for 15-20 years I decided to go for what I always wanted.

I'm a big kid like that. I recently bought barbies the same as I had as a girl from ebay. (peaches & cream and Dream glow).

It's particularly nice of you to pop back with thanks. Well done on managing to get the kitten. Potential terrror I think. How about calling him 'Huck' 'cos that almost sounds like HUKD and will suit a little tearaway??
