Hermes Courier's... Full of ****?!

Ordered 2 of the same items from Debenhams on Monday, they're not actually Christmas presents so I didn't mind if they came late. However, I have checked the tracking details and they claim to have delivered one this morning, with a signature. But I have been indoors all morning, have also checked my post & no card has been left to say which house the parcel has been left at (such bad practice!)! Called Debenhams who insist I knock all of my neighbours doors to see who has my item - that wouldn't be a problem if I knew where to start! live in a terraced property, therefore have neighbours eitherside & across the Road - they have been in touch with the Courier who do not have a name of who signed... Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!

My second item, the tracking status is - 'Not delivered - Parcel damaged', now Debenhams say it left their warehouse fine therefore must have been damaged in transit??? I'm pretty peeved off! They're checked all my local stores and the item is not in stock and is now OOS online :(

The items were the same items, same size and both left the warehouse & attempted delivery on the same day - I don't think I'll be ordering from them again... This is my 3rd order from them, previous ones have been fine - despite the courier leaving my last parcel with a neighbour 8 doors away!!!

Sorry to hear this but my Hermes deliverys in my area are always excellent!

Hermes is all dependant on the local courier, if you've found out they're useless i'd advise just not using them again.

Hermes are crap!!! ordered for a collection on the 15th hadn't been collected by the 21st despite calling every day, they then said because of the weather they wouldnt now be able to pickup until the 3rd Jan due to backlog, useless, wouldnt use them ever again.

Have received a refund now and sent it HDLN who are great, picked up next day.

They all had this problem so wouldn't really use that as evidence, had this with DHL and Inter City link as well as collect + they're networks took a battering in between the snow periods.

Hi there, I had a recent experience of Hermes and their stupid delivery service, although the buyer of my item from Ebay was probably party to blame too. First off, my buyer bid on a collection only item, after she won it I later realised that she lived in London (the item was in Sheffield!).
Anyway, it wasn't going to cost me anything so I let her send a courier service. The courier had no idea where the parcel was going. I had an address but I asked to be on the 100% safe side. No clue. She's just the middle man apparently. Ok well, I have the item ready to go, but wait, they need barcodes?!! My buyer had them all along and never posted them to me. Why on earth would I have the barcodes, when my buyer was the one using the courier service? I was bewildered. In the end the courier took the item, and I had to print 3 barcodes AND post them to the couriers house. It has put me off selling on Ebay, and I certainly won't use Hermes if I need anything collecting.

You cant blame the courier for any of that, in fact it sounds like they went out of their way to help. That was down to the buyer not being organised, If I was selling something pick up only then pick up only it is, the only time I list as pick up only is when its too fragile or awkward to pack or literally too big, anyone buying then asking for courier would be told no and have it cancelled.
