this will save you £££

Take yr laptop upstairs, plug the cable from the xbox in to your laptop and under the network options on the laptop, bridge connection to xbox, It should then use yr wireless from the laptop to connect.

Have a look on google but i know it can be done i just forgotten the exact way, I did it, i will look for the link and if i find it, i will post it here

the wireless adapter works perfectly well. If "reception" is poor then it prob means that the router is too far from the adaptor with too many barriers, or the router doesnt output a strong enough signal for the adaptor to pick up from where it is situated.

I think the norm price is down to around £40 which is excellent so I'd get one asap if I were you. If you have an N type router then you could buy the N type adaptor although I've not seen any raving reviews regarding the increased performance from these.

or get home plugs

plug one in to mains socket in near xbox and plug ethernet to homeplug to 360
then downstiar plug either net from router in to second home plug

We've got 4 xbox360s all running off one wireless hub (plus other consoles). Connection does drop occasionally & it can be laggy on certain games eg fifa10. But on the whole they work fine. If you've got a 'n' class router (eg a BT Home Hub 2) try the newer double aerial adaptors as they are supposed to have much better connectivity - there was an offer on the newer ones at tesco recently where they were the same price as the older versions :

If you can get your hands on the newer type for the same price as the older version it would be a better deal even if you were to upgrade your wireless router in the future :)

I'd advise homeplugs personally. Had both the wireless adaptors for the 360 and I get a far better connection using homeplugs. Also Homeplugs are much better if you're going to be a little distance from the router. Around the same price as a wireless adaptor and I know Dabs recently had a decent set around £40.

i've tried everything with the 360 and the wireless adaptor is fine, has never ever dropped connection once on me(router has mind you). Even if the signal is weak it shouldn't affect your online playing. The only thing it'll affect is streaming stuff from your pc.
