Hi Guys after some advice distributing our sky TV around the house. Basically we have one sky hd box and a normal box on multiroom in the kids playroom. We wanted to take a feed of the rf2 in our lounge hd box to our bedroom and our kitchen. Then take a feed from our two kids sky box to each of their bedrooms.

So I was thinking of taking a line from each rf2 source up to the loft in two separate distribution boxes and then feed off into the appropriate bedrooms and kitchen all with their own magic eyes.

So my question is what would be the best make distribution boxes, I bough a philex kit from Argos, but this looks a bit naff, so I have an old F140 Professional 4 way distribution amplifier and was going to purchase a second one. Is it better to feed the power into these or rely on the sky boxes feed although this results in 6db instead of 8db output. Or should I look at other better makes? I.E. any recommendations please?

Thanks for all your help and time guys!

It's going in your loft, so won't really matter what the look like. You just need a couple amplified aerial distribution kits, preferably mains powered ones. Picture quality will be fine if you're only splitting each feed twice.

I use the SLx one from maplins and have sky+ through every room and the magic eye remote adapters from ebay to work it all... been working away perfectly for about 6 years now.

Thanks, sorry by "look" i meant i didn't have a clue which would be the better product as one may be better than the other, thanks Els:oops:

The make shouldn't matter tbh, as the source is the Sky receiver, rather than an internal/external aerial. As long as you get a decent picture on your Sky boxes, there shouldn't be a problem :)

You could probably get away with a coaxial y-splitter for each one if you wanted to.
