Highway Code

Has the Highway Code been amended such that when overtaking a slower vehicle there is no requirement to indicate ones intention and, having overtaken the slower vehicle, indication is unnecessary in returning to the original lane?

This was changed a few years ago. Didn't you know. Everybody else does. I know. I've seen them doing it.

I rarely indicate, if you can't see the slow vehicle on my left (they are usually large)when i'm tight to the white line in the middle of the road, should you really be driving a car?
Also do you plan on undertaking someone driving on the wrong side of the road once they have overtaken something, if you don't it doesn't really matter if they signal or not?

If you drive a BMW you apparently don't need to indicate at all.

My understanding of indicating is that you need to do it so what any other road users or pedestrians are made aware of your intentions. Therefore, you should indicate in this situation, as the driver of the slow moving vehicle needs to be made aware of what you're doing.

This is funnier than the jokes you post.

This new lay is applicable to roundabouts too, and most junctions. It's kinda like a guessing game.

I was always told you never had to indicate to return to the left hand lane after overtaking, as the overtaking is the manouvre and that you should return to the left hand land after completing it. This is when I was learning to drive HGV 1&2. I don't indicate after overtaking, middle lane is a overtaking lane.

it is pretty needless imo unless overtaking when going past a slip road.
