Is it normal for Hd recorders to freeze.?
I have had this for approx a month or so and it has frozen on at least 10 occasions.
The only way to start the channel again is to switch over to another channel and then back again.

I am on the third hitachi pvr in less than a month. Non of them go for more than 2 days without locking up. We have to turn off the mains to the unit & reboot it & hey presto here it goes for hopefully another day! Hitachi helpline say they have not experienced this fault!! I must be the unlikiest man in the world. I am about to return this unit to comet . PS I also tried a Humax unit as they appear to have a good reputation. After an hour & a half of reading the impossible to understand instructions I failed to get the unit to record at all. I would love to know if a simple to use reliable pvr exists! My sky hd box works perfectly but I just want a second reliable recorder to record diect off air channels

The Humax is a doddle to operate, not sure what you find difficult about it.
