Went to see it saturday, it's got its good points, and only a few bad points.
Quite a lot of gunfight [obviously]

If your into action/adventure - go for it.

How can a film based on a pc game be good?
#4
I've seen the trailers and was disappointed.
The whole essence of Hitman was to kill, silently and not be caught out, so, when i see in the trailers, and he's armed and shooting folks the way he is doing, it's hardly based on the game, more on the franchise of 47......will wait a few months and d/load

Films based on games are usually dire, cant think if there has ever been a good one. Face it Tomb Raider & Resident Evil are never going to be classics as for Street Fighter I cant comment.

what about silent hill? that was a good film taken from a game

have to agree, games made into films are poor! The only half decent attempt was Mortal Kombat 1 imo.

Anyone remeber Super Mario Bros film? awful!

oh and hitman looks pap as well. lol

I watched the trailer today in HD and the guy has stubble on his head.
I thought 47 was supposed to be naturally bold

Have to say, it wasn't very good! Storyline was poor, acting was :s
Current good film is Beowulf, and have seen 3.10 to Yuma which is very cool

Hitman (the movie) scored 1 out of 5 in Empire magazine and has had similarly poor reviews elsewhere.

Make of that what you will. I know I'll be avoiding it despite enjoying the games.

I honestly can't think of a single game-to-movie adaptation that has been universally praised as being at least "good", let alone "excellent" or "a classic" and there have been plenty of them over the past few years....

I can imagine some of them are entertaining enough if you're a gamer who doesn't go to the cinema much, but as a lover of cinema (as well as games) they've all fallen way short of the mark so far IMO.

I really hope that doesn't sound pompous :)

I dont understand why these games to films, don't actually follow how the games go.

I would like to see a Half Life 1 Movie (as long as it follows the game)

Hitman is probably poo cos the Actor is poo.

He is that guy from Girl Next Door and I cant take him seriously hehehe.

Well hopefully a film that will break the "game to film" mould is going to be Halo which has Peter Jackson in the mix for it.
#16
Monkey Island the film would be amazing
#17
gears of war-will be much the same as the the resi evil ones i think :)

Peter Jackson pulled out of the Halo film months ago and it's currently no longer in production as far as I'm aware.

I think that fans of DEADWOOD (myself included) would disagree with you. Timothy Olyphant is a very good actor.
The problems with the fim seem to be a a very silly story coupled with some boring 'seen-it-all-before-done-better' action scenes.
