looks like you need to be 60 or over?

You should be lucky you can still live with the parents...it's a hard world out here!

£50 is nothing - my rent and bills are about £200 a week and my earnings are not much more.

You could get a job that would easily cover £50 a week rent.

You 18, you should make up with your mum mate!! You may be angry with her, but at the end of the day she is your mum and no one will show love or care for you as much as he did, no one can replace what your mother can provide for you!! Lifes too short!! Good Luck with job/house hunting!!

Not saying its your fault BTW!

Not for us to judge or assume that all mothers are the same, some of us are lucky, many aren't I'm afraid :-(

Totally agree, my mums my best friend, but some aren't that lucky.

Anyways, go to the job centre in the morning but also your local housing might be able to help aswell, they can provide you with emergency accomodation and they do deal with housing benefts and things aswell which might give you the money for your rented accomadation, although I don't think they are very quick with these things! But the housing might be able to find you somewhere if you tell them you are about to become homeless. Hope you get something sorted, it must be such a horrible thing to go through :)

have you tried the ymca:thumbsup:
also i think if your mum says that she has thrown you out on the streets you get some sort ov shelterd accomodation like a hostel

Mate even if you applied to get benefits help it usually takes about 6-8 weeks for them to give you anything. My partner injured her leg and had a while off work - she had to fill out so many forms, go to interviews with them, have home visits before they finally paid up about 12 weeks later.

Do you not have any other family members you can stay with?

Agencies have a lot of jobs at this time of year.... not the best pay or work but it will allow you to move in with your mates. Benefits are the easy option.

Hun i totally understand what your going through, been the same way with my mum for years ( since i was 18 im 38 now) i could tell you stuff that would make your hair curl, And its getting worse

Go to see your local dss/job centre , tell them they are kicking you out and you can share with your mate and how much he wants or see if they can offer you something else that might be cheaper.
as your are only 18 i think they try to do more to keep you off the streets,
good luck with what ever you decide to do, remember theres always someone on here to chat to if you need advice or help with something

I had a horrific struggle as a teen - lived in the worst part of Manchester, was the only kid who didn't want to be in a gang but instead wanted to be in the Police. Worked my way out of it and it was bloody hard - two jobs while I was at college etc etc, got through Uni and into the Police. Now work for Probation Service but am going back into the Police.

Anyway, I have been in this situation - evil step mum and all that , didn't get along with Mum (as she stuck up for the 40 year old 30 stone Scottish neighbor who broke my nose - yes me a skinny 15 year old at the time and he could have killed me). Anyway - I applied to the housing place telling them that I was about to be kicked out - a few weeks later they sent a letter saying I was on their list and had 25 points (25 points for having to share a toilet) Pregant women got about 300 points so it was impossible for me to ever get a place.... I never removed my name from the list and I have never heard back - even 14 years later I am probably still bottom of the list - So I would not waste your time.

They get the 'I'm about to be kicked out by my parents excuse a million times a day'

if your under 18 in london anyway, you would of been offered some sort of help via the homeless unit (a mate who was 18 @ the time was told if he was female/pregnant/ill/or vunerable he would of been helped (none applied to him) i did here the social have something called a crisis loan to help pay for advanced rent (maybe as your moving in with a freind they wouldnt help) also loads of places have rent deposit schemes where they pay your deposit/bond for you again as its a freind not sure how much they would help,
#23
dude you need to see your housing office first of allabout living , jobcentre don't deal wiht housing

jobcentreplus for jobseekers if ya working under 16hours or not at all but you have to call to claim as you can't do face to face claims in the office

call 0800 0556688get calling might if your lucky get an interview same week or just before xmas. they are open 8-6 mon-fri

but you need to get registered at your local housing office about living arangements they might find you somewhere or direct you to places you can stop until they can but the more picky you are the longer it will take

hope you find your way mate!

mate dont mean to sound thick or nasty but have you not got some savings that could tide you over for a couple of weeks?

when I left home i stayed with a few friends and we paid £50 a week living in student digs and that for a year before i settled myself and now am doing a lot better for myself so check if there are any student house shares going around in your area

Have you tried Rainer,Foyer or Shelter? They all offer places/accomodation if possible. Your local housing department should carry out a "homelessness application" and house you (ususally b&b or hostel) while they assess your position. As others have said, benefits don't appear overnight, but some places are quicker than others. Don't know where you are,but locally to me there is Centrepoint who can assist with food and accomodation. Mad though it seems, have you tried the Salvation Army?
Best of luck anyway :)
