HMV Gift Card Online?

highguyukhighguyuk

Hey,

Received a gift card for HMV for Christmas. Want to order some DVD's, so went online.

Can I actually use my gift card to purchase things online?!! I can't find a way!

I'll answer my own question - no. Google comes up with the goods again.

That is pathetic. And so annoying. I'm going to have to pay more for the same items instore, than online, yet I have a HMV Gift Card. Feel like it must break some sort of law somewhere...doubt it though! lol.

    From HMV.com

Paying by Credit or Debit Card:

We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Maestro (previously Switch)/Solo, Visa Electron, hmv Store Card and the Duet/Sears store card. hmv Gift Cards cannot be used for online purchases

Have had the same thing. Very annoying. I'm not buying gift their gift cards anymore...I spent loads for Christmas only to find you're paying more instore with a giftcard :x

This is the kind of thing that makes people pirate music. Its like they purposely make it difficult to get music online without pirating it.

There is nothing I desire instore at HMV. What can I buy to put on eBay that will devalue the least?

ANNOYING. HMV need sorting out. I want to spend your vouchers. Don't you get it?

Yep, i've got 100's of pounds worth of rubbish vouchers.
I hate the way I have to waste at least £5 to buy a game or something rather than buy cheaper online.
WHY DON'T FRIENDS AND FAMILY JUST GIVE MONEY!!!!! :whistling:

Sell the vouchers on here and use the money to buy online, may or may not work in your favour.

My Daughter purchased one for My Husband who likes rare rockabilly music, which you cannot get in store, so what do we do now! maybe the staff should ask at checkout if it is intended for online purchases, could be the start of a better customer service, instead of a very frustrated customer after purchase.

i know how you feel. i was gonna get the naked gun, a game for 49p and fast &furios 5 trip play. thing is i can get FAF (more expensive obviously) but i am highly aware that my HMV does not sell the other two in the store. WTF ELSE AM I GONNA GET FOR LIKE 2 QUID!

Is it any wonder, HMV are experiencing so many problems financially, when a customer cannot even redeem a simple gift card online. I have to travel over 50 miles now to spend a £10 gift voucher. It's going to cost more in fuel than the voucher is worth. I might as well bin it, or give it to a charity!

Well its no wonder H.M.V. will go the same way as woolies ( Woolworth to anyone else) not flexible for the customers

I ALSO RECEIVED HMV GIFT CARD FOR MY BIRTHDAY AND SPOTTED THE RESPONSES. ITS DISGUSTING THAT YOU CANT USE A STORES GIFT CARD @ THEIR STORE ON LINE. SHAME ON YOU HMV
