Holiday for Mum and 15year old daughter? Help please

Hi all - have been thinking of taking my 15 year old daughter away for a few days when her GCSEs finish (after 13th June) - she has worked sooo hard and I want to reward her for her effort rather than her results (which are actually forecasted to be very good). I have been suffering from depression for over 2 years and, along with my husband and son, she has been a source of great strength to me. So I want to make the effort for her. Where can we go? Uk or abroad - looking for cheap deal, somewhere safe for 2 "ladies" and not too hot as we are both very fair skinned. We love eating out, theatre, shopping, swimming. My mobility is not brilliant but I can get around ok (no serious mountain climbing tho'). Big step for me so any ideas will be appreciated!

Maybe not so cheap, but what about a break at a spa? (massage, facials, etc)

google 'spa breaks' & see what comes up.

Hiya I am in exactly the same situation as you. We are thinking about going on a girly weekend to London. We will probably stay in a Youth Hostel - not sure which one yet. Intend to go to a show, sightseeing and some serious shopping! Hope you enjoy whatever yoiu do.

Hi, now bear with me on this one, its a fabulous place, and is incredibly safe, its a secure resort, its the Hyatt La Manga Las Lomas village in spain, its a real delight to visit and has a lot of celebrity followers, and at the moment try clicking on TRAVELZOO.CO.UK and look for villa and hotel deals in spain and portugal, then it will show up, its on at £81 per room per night, the rooms are wonderful and it includes breakfast and use of their 5* spa facilities of which you can then use for more treatments too. Flights go into Murcia which is about 25mins drive and have carriers such as ryanair and jet2.com flying in nice and cheap, as you are making your own bookings you can pick which days and indeed how many too.
Their are some fabulous restaurants there, with a couple in the 5* hotel (very nice indeed) and on an evening a courtesy bus whizzes you where you want to go and back again, and through out the day a regular service bus takes you around all for free!!!!
Seriously take a look at it please and let me know what you think

London baby!!! That'll meet all your requirements!

Unless you live in London already then I recommend Paris!

If anyone else has any more suggestions - please feel free!

Hi - this is my first post so hope it helps! I registered just to send this! Maybe not the cheapest break but definitely excellent value for money and fantastic for a monther & daughter. I used to work for Mark Warner & they have brilliant things included tennis, scuba diving, teenagers club in lots of destinations, full board with wine. They have lovely hotels in really nice locations, I would recommend Lakitira in Kos and they often have good deals in June... definitely worth a look! Have fun.

okmaybe not what you would have considered but what about a spa break at Centerparcs. We're just back from there and the other girls I went with and I booked an evning in their Aqua sana and it was easily the best 5 hours of my life. They do a two night break with unlimited access to their spa and bed breakfast and evening meals in their executive acomodation with some treatments thrown in for about £190

I took my teenagers to Salou last year, Salou itself is just your standard Spanish holiday resort so we hada few days lounging by the pool, then we got a taxi about 10 minutes up the road to Port Aventura, it's Universal Studios European theme park.. It was great, we had lots of giggles and screams too!!! It was a great holiday, a combination of relaxation and amusement, and great fun's what it's all about at that age :D

We are going there in 6 weeks time!
We're actually staying at Port Aventura in one of their hotels. Can't wait. Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Back to op, what a lovely thing to do for your daughter.
How about Champneys?
They have some deals for 1or 2 night breaks
http://www.champneys.com/tariffs.cfm?PackageTypeID=2
Then go to London for a couple of nights for some serious shopping and a show.

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy yourselves. xx
