A friend has done this in the past at various holiday parks in the UK but I was wondering if it is possible to do it during the summer holidays abroad when most people will be going away. Would be looking at Spain, Tunisia, Balleric Islands etc....

I finish college next year & will have from June until mid october off before starting University & would love to do something completely different which will give me a great experience at the same time.

If anyone has any knowlage about this sort of thing I would appreciate some information.

Can anyone do it? I would be nearly 19 at the time of doing it.

Do they look for certain people, eg, someone who has done dance or drama GCSE's or whatever or anr are qualifications needed at all?

Are language skills a nessecity?

How would you go about looking for somewhere to go? Is it just a case of writing to various hotels asking about it or do any compaines help organise it, I have seen some who sort out volunteering etc?

Thanks alot

James

I've applied before and its VERY hard. Alot of the time its just a straight no as people tend to rep again and they are chosen over people with no experience. Keep trying though.

I don't think its specific qualifications, as personality is more important in something like repping. Language skills help, but again not a necessity.
Apply to different tour operators as soon as possible, might as well try to get on the books as soon as possible.

easiest thing is to book cheap 2 week hol at beginning of season/when you finish college, then look for work out there, hol compays hire transfer reps in resort, also you may be able to pick up bar/restaurant work as well.

if it doesn't work out then you still have the flight home after 2 weeks

i have repped before but for a winter season snowboarding its really hard to get into as the travel agencys like first choice - 18-30's etc tend to use the same people each year so they dont have train and they know the people

but if u reallly want to do it just google rep jobns or go to the tour operators direct but as its april most reps for the summer would have been chose by now as the season starts in may and the reps need to get to the hotels with the rest of the staff and set things up for the season

but good luck hope u do get a job as i have great time best 8 months of my life:thumbsup:

agreed

make sure you get out before the begining of the season and you should find something or other.

did this in ibiza back in early ninties, bar work and bit of ticket touting on the beach
