Looking at mid - end of March, 5 days, 2 adults. We went to Egypt early January (just in time) and wasn't very warm but won't be going there anytime soon.

Have found an all inclusive 5* hotel deal for 5 nights, 23rd March at £549.

not a bad price but personally would mever dream of staying in a complex. Once you go in a private villa you wont ever go back to a hotel

Ooh a massive help. Have never rented our an apartment or villa though. Few questions:

- When you book through these sites do they supply a holiday rep or do you meet the landlord etc?
- Would you advise a car rental for a 5 day stay?
- Is Lanzarote a big place or is everything close by?

Apologies for the questions, am new to this. Thanks

you normally get met on day 2 by a local rep who looks after a few villas. All they do is make sure everything is satisfactory and answer any general queries.

car driving is brilliant on lanzarote as main roads are all new and are empty most of the time.
http://www.autoreisen.es/ingles/CarHire_.php is a good hire company and is on airport so you can get the keys / paperwork sorted whilst awaiting your bags being offloaded from the plane. Cars are 50 yards from the terminal.

lanzarote isnt that big. I recommend a rough guide / lonely planet book. We prefer puerto del carmen as its central and a good place to explore the island

Lanzarote is situated just 79 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.

Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination.

This is all brilliant info csiman. Will forward onto the misses to check out and see what she thinks.

One question: Do you feel safe when you use apartments or villas? She is quite safe conscious and prefers hotels for security purposes.
