lol

Yeah, i do, i have a Sony amp and some Tannoy 5.1 speakers. COD is amazing on it, when harriers are dropping bombs and stuff the whole room shakes. Definitely worth it.

Up until last week i used the xbox for streaming video as well, which also worked well

Definitely worth it. If you don't use surround sound when playing the xbox you are really missing out.

I've had to use my xbox and headphones recently, and have to say that is brilliant as well! Turn it up full volume and COD is fantastic :)

Are you mental? Everything that has surround sound, be it a game on the 360, a dvd, a HD-DVD, bluray (obviously not through 360) or even TV it is amazing! Period.

Also if you have the cash it is much better to buy a separate amplifier/av receiver and then separate speakers.

so everyone seems to recommend it. What are the best systems out there around the £300 mark then?

They also do a package deal with leads but different speakers, although you get a dvd player too:

Like i said earlier, mine blows me away with most things.

However as sancho1983 did, and myself actually, head over to AVForums.com and look in their classified section if you will consider second hand gear, as all my system is second hand and couldnt ask for better to be honest! Most of the guys there treat their stuff like gods and thus will be in good condition anyways. Also i find a lot more honest people over there then here. Although obviously is more specialist over there.

Nice! My AV Receiver the guy described as in below average condition and lost remote, but when he bought it round to me it was fine, no a scratch on it, id have described it as very good condition! and then i just bought a harmony remote for all my equipment anyways!

The guy also threw some cable in, couple of opticals and about 20 metres of speaker cable.

He also helped me set it up via PM. :)
