A couple of weeks ago I ordered a BBQ from Argos for £199.
I went into a homebase store the day after and it was a 15% off weekend with a voucher I'd got.
I was told by Customer Service that all items are dispatched from the same warehouse, so I might as well cancel my Argos order, and order again with Homebase at £170.
I had phoned up a few times in the last couple of weeks to check on the order status, and was told that my order had been dispatched from the warehouse, and was on its way to store.
It still hadn't come in by yesterday, and as I was passing the store, I nipped in to ask about it.
I was told that my order would 100% definitely come, but may take a little longer.
I have had a phone call today, telling me that they've had a memo from head office saying that no more would be delivered, and they cannot fulfil my order, regardless of the fact that the item has, in the last two days, become available on both Argos.co.uk and Homebase.co.uk.
They offered me a refund, but I requested a member of the management team phone me instead.
As I have paid for the goods, and therefore a contract formed, am I entitled to purchase the BBQ from elsewhere, and bill any extra it may come to back to Homebase?
