Ordered some furniture from Homebase 4 months ago, started putting it up today and it seems we've got double of everything we ordered. When do we legally get to keep it I forget?

And, when do you morally decide you have a right to keep it?

keep it its there problem they have double delivered not yours.
plus like you say its 4 months ago and they havent been in contact so stuff em.

you contact them and give them 30 days to pick up said extra items
so far no-one knows of the error, so it starts now

until then, no can keep

Were you charged double at the time?

Wait until six months has elapsed then assume they are not going to come calling for it.

However, as mentioned, contacting the organisation & explaining the issue asking them to arrange to collect the redundant items within 7 days would be the moral approach.

If they fail to reply or collect with 7 days dispose of it as you see fit.

State the deadline in your correspondence to Homebase.

You can legally keep something delivered to your premises after 90 days. You are under no obligation to inform the company of their mistake, though most people will.

I would keep it.

just keep it go on you know you want to.
anyways if it was me i would of kept it 4 months ago and if they came knocking i would of denied all knowledge of it.

Keep it. They will only send out a company to come and collect it, write it off, and the collection company will sell it on as 'seconds'.

Dont put it up till 90 days have past if youre worried, although i seriously doubt they will ever switch on, that way they have no legal standing if they phone you up.

It's been 4 months since we took delivery and I mentioned it to them at the time that we've got a damn lot of stuff.

It's flat pack, I lack x ray vision.

Somewhat jealous that I've got £3,000 worth of extra furniture lying around. Only paid £1,500 though as it was 50% off.

Not sure, it's like a poorly managed warehouse (its a small room) at the in laws house with paper work thrown somewhere. I wouldn't do that, besides I think homebase only have a 30 day refund policy. Unlike wickes which is 6 months.

Ah yes. I'd be inclined to ignore it all to be honest. It's been a long time. Keep it, for a while longer, then give it away.

The wife wants to keep it, well lend to father in law for his place, then take it back when we get our bigger house
