Horlicks and bug

Hi,

I wondered if anyone has had anything similar happen to them and what was the result. I recently found a maggot type thing in a box of horlicks! ewww...yes. Anyway I called the company GlaxsoSmith and they sent me a voucher for a replacement and a bag to send the box off with maggot to investigate. Not that they seemed to care what I found!

I also called environmental health and they have said they will analyse it before its passed back to GS.

Just wondered if anything else like this has happened to anyone and what the outcome was.

I once found a piece of glass in a loaf of asda's bread, we took it back and they said that some one will be in touch after it is investigated and gave us our money back, a week later we got a knock on the door and it was the head of Marketing for asda's, he turned up with 10 free loafs and a £20 food voucher for the store, Brilliant service from them, (this was about 10 years ago though)
As to horlick's I will never touch it again after your find, I have the biggest fear of Magnets (as I call them coz the word makes me phisically sick)

likewise, used to work in food manufacturing for a well known manufacturer. There is little they can do to find maggots in the product. Best you can hope for is an apology and some free vouchers!!

Slightly different story... :-D

Unknowingly purchased a reduced price sandwich at Somerfield only to find the 'Use by' date was the previous day. Called SF CS and received an apology with £10 SF voucher. In a week time spotted the similar thing - an expired sandwich sitting on the shelf. Bought it and wrote a 'strong worded' letter to Somerfield HO. Received the same apology (same words 100%) with another £10 voucher. (You have to believe me here). In another week time, spotted another expired Sandwich sitting in the shelf but this time I called my local council.

Few weeks later got a letter from the Council saying that SF explained that the Sandwiches were purchased before being moved off the shelf. Donno what that means but I was sold an Expired product which the Council failed to understand. :-(

Did anyone see the latest Which? magazine?, it had a photograph of a sandwich someone bought in Morrisons that had a frog inside and it was still alive! Marvellous!

I had a sandwich once from Boots that still had a cardboard triangle (template as it was called) still in it - I got a £5.00 voucher and a refund on my buttie for that  Big Deal!
