Looking to book a hot air balloon ride for my girlfriend's 21st birthday, will be just the two of us I need to book for.

I live in Milton Keynes but was preferably looking to go somewhere else nearby for it probably a maximum of an hour's journey away, which surrounding counties would people suggest?

Looking for nice, picturesque views and all that jazz, suggestions are much appreciated.

try buyagift.co.uk. Also, if you search vouchers and you can find 20% off, you might want to try a few of them to see which gives you most discount as some say 20% but give you 5/10%. Also, go through quidco for some cashback too.

I've done a few hot air balloon rides - fantastic experience.
Remember that it is naturally weather dependant, which affects not only the date but also the location.

To explain - the day has to be still (naturally) and although when you book they may offer ,say, 3 locations that is because they will choose the best location based on the local weather conditions on the day when they pick you up. It's not something that can be 'booked' as you'll now appreciate (I never realised that until my first flight).

Oxford is a probably the best location within one hours drive, and I have seen them operating there; but frankly you won't be disappointed whichever location because they are usually run by enthusiasts and choose the best locations.

Hope that helps - have a great flight !

Thanks for that, will certainly keep that in mind, I suppose even if I do in in MK it wouldn't be too long before we'd be away from the built up areas.
