Hotdeals ? Not with Rpoints.com

anyone noticed the ridiculous cut that rpoints are taking on transactions.

this has only become apparent now the wonderful Quico.com and other new comers are giving people a fair cut.

i'm also apalled at rpoints being seemingly threatened by this wondeful 'impartial' site... banning, locking and editing posts to do with HotUK - not even prepared to debate.

no more posts on Rpoints from me,,,, come one everyone.

best wishes
Julian

Here here...I've also noticed that people 'steal' posts from this site for themselves and don't thank hotukdeals.

I'd like to make a brief comment in my "official capacity".

Let's try to keep this constructive guys. As rayman posted in the last thread of this nature, the point of forums like HUKD, MSE, rPoints, dvdforums etc. should be to create a community of people who help each other out in finding the best deals possible. Although I may disagree with the policies of other forums, I don't want us to spend our time slagging them off. Instead let's just try to be positive and help each other out no matter which forum we're on :)

Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

interesting.

You post spam/plugs for this site using multiple aliases at Rpoints.

You then complain about the moderation at rpoints.

You also plug quidco over rpoints and link to that plug from rpoints

This site appears to be run by the same people as quidco yet you claim it is impartial

edit: to be clear this is in response to Mancunian

So I post a number of facts and you just ignore them, and then ask to be rated on the facts.

I think what mancunian meant is that these forums are impartial in the sense that they allow people to post links to other sites etc. It seems rpoints is banning mention of Quidco and hukd and I know dvdforums is the same about any other site that has "competing" affiliate links.

Obviously any forum has to have rules and moderation and at a certain point if people are spamming links to something it probably should be addressed and stemmed. The question is when is a better deal being censored?

There's also the difference between 1. allowing information about certain sites to be circulated 2. promoting sites and 3. banning any mention of certain sites. I think 3 is wrong, 2 is debatable and 1 is desirable.

HUKD has had links to rpoints, greasypalm, linemypocket etc. all stickied to the top of the Hot Deals forum from day one. In fact they are all still there right at the top of the forum. as for Quidco I believe that the first time it was mentioned on here on the front page it was noted that it was being supported by Admin.

I do think that if you do not like the way another forum is run, spamming it with other links is probably not the best way to voice your dissent. At the end of the day spam is spam.

Sorry was this supposed to be in reference to me?! (as it follows after my post) I can assure you I have certainly not been posting spam on rPoints.

If you are not referring to me could you please clarify that in your post.

Edit: Thanks for clarifying tripwire.

Actually an Rpoints user did "borrow" one of my deals, but they did comment that it was found by me. Now we go back to what Admin said... I don't mind them taking it because the whole point of me finding them is for me to save money, and Rpoints is often a good place to find lots of deals. Quantity does't mean quality though, and their cashback isn't as good as QuidCo's. The only thing I don't like about Rpoints is that they cover-up when HUKD is mentioned. OK, it shouldn't be spammed with HUKD links, but if a topic is started to talk about HUKD then it shouldn't be locked. We even promote Rpoints in the sticky of the HUKD forum.

Apparantly it would be illegal to hack into their server and change the page itself and you will almost certainly get put in prison if you were caught.

(duckmagicuk2 will NOT be hacking into the server therefore)

True, I wonder how many points you would get for that? ;-)
