Hotel - Fees and deposits

Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone can offer me any advice on how hotel fees and deposits work please?

I'm off on my holidays next week and will be spending 6 days in Amsterdam, I've just been checking through my hotel booking reservation confirmation and see that it states that - "The following fees and deposits are charged by the property at either check in or check out - 29.50 euros per day"

I've paid for the hotel in full up front and really don't fancy being stung for almost £200 while out there.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Probably a tourist tax that some places levy.

Contact the agent and enquire with them to be sure.

Seems like quite a high tax to be honest, I've tried speaking to the agent but they are completely useless to be fair, they say there won't be any charges but will not provide that information in writing for me.

Does that tax relate to the total cost of the stay? The reason I ask is that it would be not far off 50% of the total cost. :x

it seems to be very common at disney paris-you are ok if you book through the disney website but there are some horror stories on tripadvisor of people who booked the hotel direct themselves and got hit with daily local taxes.

the tax they quote is usually per night but if you went through a travel agent Im sure you are ok.
