Can anyone recommend me a good, clean hotel near the MEN (manchester). Not wanting to spend over £55 for the 2nd Feb for one night only.

I'd pay more for a boutique holiday if any know any around there that is!!

Theres one right next to Selfidges, about 1 minute walk from M.E.N called the Mitre, its fairly basic, more like a B&B but location is great if you just need a bed and can be really cheap sometimes, I stayed there for a gig at the arena and it cost me £20 for a last-minute room! only thing is its right next to a massive church so got a good awakening on the following (Sunday) morning! But as youre going on a tuesday you should be able to get some really good prices wherever you stay! Failing that, the britannia is always cheap and basic hotel about 5 mins walk away near Piccadilly gardens and is do-able for about £35-50 normally

Try laterooms.com
hotels.co.uk
lastminute.com
travelsupermarket.com

and dont forget your quidco, you could get a really good deal!

EDIT: Ive just had a quick look for you (as im really bored and in a good mood!) if you go on travelsupermarket, there is the Thistle hotel coming up for £44.51 on lastminute.com.... Seems a good deal as all the others are £30-40 more for that hotel... plus you would get almost 10% quidco back so it would come to just over £40...although it would be about a 5-10 min walk away.... depends how close you want to be!

Stayed in the travelodge before. Cheap and OK for the night.

EDIT; on your required date its £108 per room, you'd be better staying at portland street ( £58 ) and walking through the centre,15 mins or so

Just checked out lastminute.com and missed out on the cheap Thistle room. Its hard because I'm after somewhere within a 15 minute (safe) walk with parking nearby (obv know cost for parking) but when I'm barely gonna be in the room I dont wanna pay silly money!

No worries, glad youve found somewhere, actually walked past the thistle today and it looked pretty good for the money, but alas the travelodge is fairly close and hope you have a great time! Try and get there fairly late and park on the street- free after 6 or 7pm i think?
