Gemmy...well, there are a couple of obvious places - dunno if this is the kind of thing you're looking for. About 25 minutes to the West you've got Bluewater - a big old shopping centre with a cinema and a growing number of lovely restaurants...there's a Travelodge just round the corner from that. About 30 minutes to the east you've got Whitstable - a harbour town with farmers markets, fish markets, loads of quaint independent shops and a ton of great restaurants. Just last weekend I stayed in a B&B in Herne Bay, which is about 5 minutes away from Whitstable. 75 notes for a deluxe double room with sea view and full English the next morning...fab! Herne Bay is a bit quiet though...

Is that the kind of 'more going on' you were after?

the premier inn does have its own car park, its situated on Wating Street (A2), and its an easy drive to the hospital from there

On the hotel sites under their hotel information it should say if they got onsite parking.
