Hello Hello, I thought I would share the quest of 2 hotUKdeals readers to go and buy ourselves one of the Garmin Nuvi 300 sat nav units we saw on this thread:http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=696147
We started phoning different stores around 11pm yesterday trying to locate any units that were left. Many of the ASDA stores just let their phones ring and ring for 35 minutes or so before even answering but we persisted with every open store in Kent, starting with Broadstairs (about as far east in kent as you can go) to Tilbury on the other side of the dartford tunnel in essex...
We got some help on the phone while speaking to them, but many stores called us back, sometimes an hour later; so it took until 1am to find one in Chatham, and 2.30am to find the other in Gravesend.
Although we were promised that they would be held until 12 noon the (now) same day we thought that it was worth going now if we really wanted them as knowing my luck I always seem to miss out on something I really fancy from instore promos.
I left the house at 2.45am and drove over to my friends house to embark on the mass voyage to get our satnavs.. i'm glad he brought me a drink from inside his house.. anyway.. here are some photos!http://jameslstewart.googlepages.com/petrol.jpg
Filled up with £25 of petrol for the journey.. didn't want to get short looking for a petrol station at that time in the morning in goodness knows where.http://jameslstewart.googlepages.com/map.jpg
I had plotted a map to Gravesend, expected journey time there 1hr 12mins each way, excluding the detour to Chatham.http://jameslstewart.googlepages.com/asda-chatham.jpg
We arrived at chatham at around 3.20am.. still dark outsidehttp://jameslstewart.googlepages.com/empty-asda.jpg
Massive store but not a single person to be seenhttp://jameslstewart.googlepages.com/spotted-chatham.jpg
Spotted behind the counter!
