Haha, is this the closest your getting to pancakes today nik ?...................sorry :D

I just like jam on mine - but I make them the Scottish way as in they're smaller and thicker (drop scones I think is the proper name) about the size of a coaster for your cup and half an inch thick. I always make an hash of the big proper flat ones so I'm safer doing it that way lol.

The handle fell off my super-duper pancake pan, whilst I was flipping my second one.......:(

The dog was very grateful for the pancake, and I had to make the rest in another (not so super duper) pan.

Lemon and sugar is the god of pancake toppings........although I tried one with chocolate ice cream, and the kids had one with maple syrup too. Yum.

I bought 2 packets from Sainsburys - dated till 16th March 2011 - opened them up and they were all mouldy :( Seriously peeved, so will be taking them back tomorrow. Decided to order Mongolian Crispy Lamb with pancakes from the Chinese instead...

Cooking the pancakes this year reminded me of the fateful day 2 years ago...the day i broke my daughters finger during a pancake accident.
We were having a cook off - a pan each to see who would produce the best pancake, but only had 1 spatula. I noticed that mine was in desperate need of turning - so i grabbed the spatula off her - only to hear a 'crack'. Unfortunately she had poked her little finger through the end of the utensil ... the nurse in A&E took great delight in phoning the Xray dept and telling them "we have a young lady with a suspected broken finger bought about by her mother while cooking panckes" - Oh the shame :(

So what you all giving up for lent then? Or do you just make the pancakes and never bother with the reason behind it and what comes later?

I am perfect so don't need to give anything up for Lent :p. Well, the only thing I probably should give up is HUKD but meh, not gunna happen as no doubt the bargain of the year will happen during that time.
