How do i add a signature to add a text instead of the direct link?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to add a link to my signature but i don't want it to state the hyperlink, instead i want it to appear as whatever the link is.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you :)

Hi mate,

Thanks for the tip but how do a sig like yours, for example, you have "steve's ebay tips for seller and buyers" but it doesn't show the direct link until you hover the curser over it?

That's basically what i'm looking to do, as i posted a deal before as a helpful tip and i think it would be useful for the future. :)

In your sig editing section, write the word you want to show. Highlight it with your mouse. Click the little button above showing a blue globe. Paste the link in there. Click ok.

Hope that's understandable!

I think I must have misread you post, I thought you didn't want it 'hidden'.
Emma did mine for me, I can 'do' HTML, but not the code needed for this forum.

Another small tip...

If you want to hyperlink a picture, add the picture to the post like normal, then select the text including the IMG tags and click the blue globe thing, paste in our URL and wala!

Unfortunately, can't be done on sigs tho :-(

test...

Why when I highlight text and use the globe does it put the hotukdeals prefix in front of my link?

Think I'll stick with the BB code (url=www.google.co.uk)text(/url)

another test...

The penultimate test

No... :)

No... :)

:?

The only link I could get to work was when I used the BB code. In 'another test'... If you hover over my links you'll see what I mean

BBC

I don't know why you're putting in that HUKD bit, it doesn't do anything...

I'm not adding it. It's added automatically when I use the insert link button after I've highlighted the text, but then the link obvisouly won't work.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/www.bbc.co.uk

In the above link all I typed in was www.bbc.co.uk
I'm using http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/5553/linkws4.png

I don't really know what you mean Greg. When you press the globe button, all that comes up in the box is http:// ...
#13
Exactly. I don't understand why it is adding http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/ to the link when I press submit :?

You need to put http:// in front of it I think...

you do! Thanks Admin.

I was just typing in www.bbc.co.uk but you need to keep the http:

Ah ha! Admin saves the day!!!

I was about to suggest you delete the whole text and just enter http:// before you write whatever you need but i don't know much about computers and seeing that's what ended up working makes me quite proud. :p
