Which Bluray player ? Some support .mvk some don't.

I just burn them (as a data disc) and it plays off the disc.

Use mkv2vob and burn as a "DVD video" using nero, the quality should remain at 720p

If you convert it to DVD format then it won't stay at 720p. Either your player will need to support mkv, mp4 or xvid, or you will need to burn it to a blu-ray disc in the bluray format

My method is tried and tested.
If you want, burn it as a AVCHD disc. Google it

You could try imgburn to burn the disk, selecting options ->file system ->'iso9660 / udf' before buring.

What make and model is your player?

Two apps in the mean while that will handy for you tsMuxeR & multiAVCHD

Wow, no need at all to be so blummin rude. if you burn it as a DVD format disc (.vob etc) then it won't be HD. I've never tried your method of burning it as a avchd file.

I always use MKV2VOB and convert it to an mpeg file and copy across to my ps3 hdd. Keeps the quality intact that way.
