I'm not trying to pull a fast one here by logging on to someone elses network. If there is a way of finding the key through this wired connection I would REALLY appreciate it.

Did you set the key yourself or is it on as standard?

I think it's standard.

Even if it's one I set myself, talk talk don't even begin to understand that we could start setting up the network again so I could set a new password for myself.

if your pc is connected via a network cable into your wireless router you need to type in:

192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 into internet explorer/firefox

you will then get a box asking for username password. You can look these up on the internet by googling the routers name and model. PROVIDING the username/pass are default

or try combinations of "admin" "administrator" and "pass" "password" or leaving the password box blank and just typing admin in the username.

if you cant get into it and dont mind resetting the settings (doing this might lose you your wireless network/internet connection) if you dont know how to set it up again, there should be a reset button on the side of the wireless router.

once logged in you should be able to find a router page for wireless settings, in those settings will be your key

192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 don't seem to work for me.

I'm with talk talk.

What router is it? Some ISPs like BT and Be there have the key printed on the router itself

using windows xp?

double click the network icon that tells you your connected to router by network cable

click support

look for the "default gateway" address, thats the number you need to type in to your browser
