if it is not hard modded then you can soft mod it

you need Splinter Cell Game
Splinter Save Game on memory card
takes you about 10 mins to soft mod

there are other ways but that was the way i did it

ah.... softmodding
so satisfying - getting a microsoft product to do something its not supposed to

on a more helpful note, soft modding your xbox will let you play any games and also add some features.
Search google for "xbmc" an amazing piece of open source software that runs on a modded xbox.
The easiest way to perform the mod, requires the splinter cell game, and a memory card with a special saved game.
If you don't have the game or the memory card you could also try the "hot swap" method - you need a pc with ide connector to do this, i've done this twice successfully, although its not for the faint-hearted. Have a google, i can help a bit if you can't find the info.

I did the softmod on mine years ago. I had a CD/DVD, which was some kind of auto-installer and came with a load of dashboards.
By using Splinter Cell (£2 from Gamestation) and a Game branded cheat card (£5) I was able to use the exploit, boot into that DVD and install XBMC and EvoX really quickly and easily.
