hi,
i am looking for some advice please,
my spare sony vaio desktop pc is not wireless enabled and i want to put it outside in my cabin for the kids, i have heard that it is possible to make it wireless, but how would i go about making it work from my wireless modem?

you'll need to buy a wireless adaptor, either a pc card for installing within the pc, or a usb adaptor. they'll be around £15 or so.

or run a cable from your router

you can get one of these

instead of a usb dongle. the advantage is that once fitted it stays put, and there's less chance of knocking it or damaging it.


personal preference really, plus you'd need a spare slot at the back of your pc
