Will achieve nothing. My union, the UCU, called us out on strike on Thursday over pay and pensions. It will achieve nothing and actionwas based on 28% return of ballot papers. I have left the union rather than support the strike action, Strikes and protests will not help the uk economy recover.

dunno, Portugal seems to have mastered it, they won't take the austerity measures so we may well be having to bail them out.

I agree, we should protest at The Fiddlers Arms, say 7.30 tomorrow (happy hour) for about an hour, although if r4ge turned up it would be 50 minutes!

We need a protest against people deleting their posts so that R4ge appears to have said the wrong number and gets made fun of...oh wait! :|

They're utterly pointless and full of people looking for someone else to blame for their own failings.

No-one seems to have a real idea of what they're protesting for or against, or what they want done instead.

All rather pointless.

I won't support any union that funds the labour party...simple!

well what a disaster that protest was!

201 arrests had been made during the day. The arrests were largely for a variety of public order offences, they said. In addition, 66 people were reported to have been injured, including at least 31 police officers, 11 of whom required hospital treatment.

But they were just the rapscallions who caused trouble - the peaceful protestors got their message across without trouble.

And their message was.....um, something about the cuts needing to be spread out over more time, not being needed at all and something to do with Thatcher.
