I bought an item today on ebay through buy it now and paid through paypal 3 hours later i have got the money back refunded into my paypal account and the seller sent me a message which said im having problems accepting money into my paypal account he thinks he is over his limit on what he can take and he asked me to pay him directly into his bank account and gave me his details etc. etc..

looking at his feedback he has a +17 but its all from buying and never from selling

looking at the sales history he has sold 20 of the same item just this morning so im think it needs to be reported to ebay because it sounds fishy to me and people could get ripped off

I dunno but i know ive had that limit affect me before. It was really annoying so maybe its not a scam.

There's an annual limit of £1600 (ish) that after which you have to confirm further details, i guess it's possible to hit it quickly if you're selling high priced items...

I'd still be very, very wary of sending anything outside of paypal, which the op seems to have figured out already...

Can;t you just report the sale?

EDIT : Viper... it's a rolling £1600 per 12 months and by the sounds of it he's nowhere near!

the items he is selling are at £20 each with free p+p so he must have sold shed loads to hit £1600
