A mobile number keeps calling my mum...saying her name then giggling and hanging up...its more annoying us as to who it is than anything else (we know we can block the number) so just wondered if there is a way to search mobile numbers....have tried google and facebook with no results...

rep for help :)

Is there not a database of mobile numbers now?

I am sure I read it somewhere that you could opt out but can't be sure with the dementia kicking in

I think though Lil is really wanting to find a way of tracing who the number belongs to.

Lil, PM number to me and I will happily call them for you..............

I would but I think they wil be very wary cos I have just txt them asking who they were,.....unless you called them witheld and pretended to be me....

yeah I thought that but seems you need to pay and upload your own number to search that sort of thing.....think its more aimed to search names and give numbers...not the other way round...they just keep phonin me now lol.....will be getting blocked either way if we dont figure it out :whistling:

My cousin used to call up everyone in the family & trouble them. (None of us knew at that time)
I just asked my neighbour to call him up & with a great call found out.

PM me the number if you want me to call up & find out who it is.

The fact remains, your network provider can still block the number.

Why don't we all send them a text at the same time saying 'who are you?' lol

yeah i know about blocking the number....but we aint bothered about the actuall calls its just annoying us that we dont know who it is.....and as mentioned above it would be random and would prob not end in them saying their name....

Ring up a double glazing sales Company (and every other tele-sales organisation you can find), and give a random name & the mobile number you are having trouble with as contact details. Ask about a certain product... sound interested, but say you'll have to check with your partner & could the salesperson call you back.

Ask if they can ring you back at a time later on in the evening... or early in the morning... or at any time that you feel may be inconvenient for somebody else.

---

Or next time they ring, have a small child nearby who you can hand the telephone to & speak for hours about complete gibberish.

---

Alternatively, ask a male friend to ring up the number & say that they are from the mobile telephone operator & that a security check has to be done to establish if the person who answered the 'phone is the account holder.

They'll probably reveal their name before realising...

I did a similar stunt once for a female friend who suspected her brother-in-law was cheating on her sister. A telephone number was found in the brother-in-laws wallet, and I rang it to establish who the other party was.

Worked a treat… divorce proceedings commenced thereafter.

did make me lol and can see how it could work but as I said....seen as I have already called them they would find any more calls quite suspicious to say the least lol and I doubt they would confirm anything
