Hi christophersmum,

They should be able to link their DS's without both of having the games.

All they need to is, well one of them anyway. Is when they turn the DS on, go to the multi-player option (if the game has this option) then, to the local wireless and create a room which will show the players in that game. The other DS should connect to this room and then they game away!

Me and my OH have just invested in DS's the big kids we are :p

no, it is wifi. Whether or not you go online is irrelevant, as wifi is just an industry agreed set of wireless protocols.........although someone may correct me on that last bit :)

How far are you getting? You should be able to go into the multiplayer section and search for other players (one DS is normally host), if the other DS is then hunting for games they should both see each other and then proceed.

If there's only one copy of the game then one DS needs to be loaded with the game as normal and enter the multiplayer screen and start searching, with the other DS open the download area and it should find the other DS and give you the choice to download a copy of the game (sometimes it's more limited such as not being able to choose your kart in Mario Kart) and then you can play.

I find the system works well, used to play Bomberman at my old office over lunch and I was really impressed with the wireless connection - the DS's were spread over an office floor and all worked fine.
