Can anyone show me how to do this?

Lets say I wanted to provide a link to a previous comment made by myself, how do I do this without providing a link to the entire thread?

Rep will be given to the 2nd person that gets it correct.

I just simply hit delete and loose all the unwanted thread, leaving the bits you want and the brackets etc. hope this helps.
#2
yeah, quote it all and delete what you don't need

Your posts should have a number in the top right. Use the address from that link, to link to your post.

i.e. To see this post, click the number '4' in the top right, or click here

Do you mean you want to quote something you said in a previous thread or a previous post?

To quote what you said in a previous thread, go back to the post you want, hit quote, copy the text including the quote brackets, bring it back to your new thread and paste it.

Like this which I've picked up from one of the fs threads that col has just commented it

Hi can you post some pictures please.

Do you have any selling feedback elsewhere such as ebay?

Thanks :)

Or, as rightly said by Nightswimmer, you can use the post count to pick up a previous post

except for the first post

No, I don't think that this is what I am talking about.

I once saw emma provide a link, and when you clicked it, it only brought up a single post, you couldn't scroll up or down to see the rest of the thread.

Thanks for the replies everyone. :)

It's in the top right of the text window where your message appears >>>^^^

Right click on the number of the post you want (in the top right of the post - i.e. on the same line as the date and time of the post ) and select "Copy URL" (it might also be called "Copy Link Address", or something similar depending on your browser), and then just paste it where ever it needs to go.

Also, if you click on the thread link at the top right corner it'll take you to that same post but back in the full thread, in case anyone wants to view the post in context afterwards.

Chesso's example.
